(3) Where the applicant’s ordinary residence or principal place of
business is outside Uganda, he or she shall be so represented.
13. Appointment of agent.
(1) The appointment of an agent shall be by a power of attorney
which shall be signed by the applicant or, if there is more than one applicant,
by each applicant.
(2) The address of the agent shall, for all purposes connected with the
Act and these Regulations, be treated as the address to which
communications to the person or persons who appointed the agent shall be
transmitted.
(3) The power of attorney appointing an agent may be filed together
with the application or within two months from the filing date of the
application.
(4) If the appointment of an agent is not made in accordance with this
regulation, any procedural steps taken by the agent, other than the filing of
the application, shall be deemed not to have been taken.
14. Entries in the register.
(1) The registrar shall cause to be entered in the register in respect of
every patent in addition to the information indicated in regulation 29(2) of
these Regulations, the following information—
(a) the address for service;
(b) the date on which the patent expired or was surrendered or
invalidated;
(c) any assignment of the patent or application for the patent;
(d) the grant of any licence contract; and
(e) the grant, cancellation and variation of the terms of any
compulsory licence with respect to the patent.
(2) The registrar may, at any time, enter in the register any other
particulars he or she thinks fit.
15. Inspection of files.
