(ii) an extension of the order for the detention of the goods
had beengrantedby theappropriate authority.
(6) A right holder may apply directly to the CEPS for the detention of
goods uponthegrounds statedinsubsection (1)(b); andsubsection (5) shall apply
to suchan application as appropriate exceptthatbeforetheapplication is granted,
the applicant shall provide sufficient information to satisfy theCEPS thatthere isan
infringement or imminent infringement of the rights holder'scopyright or related
right.
(7) Upon receiptof an application undersubsection (6),the CEPS shall
within fourteen days, inform theapplicant of
(a) thedecision of theCEPSon the application; and
(b) wheretheapplication is granted, the periodof thedetention of the
goods.
Settlement ofdisputes
48. (l) Where any dispute arises between any parties under this Act or in
relation toanycopyright orclaimunderthisAct, theparties involved in thedispute
may seekto negotiate a settlement of thedispute.
(2) Wherenegotiation under subsection (1)fails, a report may be madeby
either or both parties to the CopyrightAdministrator who shall mediate for a
settlement.
(3) A partydissatisfied with a decision tosubmitto mediation made under
subsection (2) mayseekredress froma court of competent Jurisdiction.
CoDeetiveadministration societies
49. (1) Authors,producers, performersand publishersmay form collective
administration societies forthepromotion andprotection oftheirinterest.
(2) A collective administration societymay acting on theauthority of the
ownerof a rightcollect anddistribute royalties andotherremuneration accruing to
theowner.
(3) The Ministermay bylegislative instrument makeRegulations for the
formation, operation andadministration of societies.
Copyright monitoring team
50. (1) Thereis by thisActestablished a copyrightmonitoring teamreferred
to as ''the monitoring team".
(2) The monitoring teamshall comprise a numberof police officers,five
representativesof Copyright owners and two officers of theCopyright Office that
theCopyrightOffice mayrequire.
(3) Themonitoring teamshall
(a) monitor copyright works,
(b) investigate casesinrespect of copyright,
