(a) becomes subject to a disqualification referred to in section 6;
(b) resigns by giving notice in writing addressed to the Minister ;
(c) is removed from office under subsection (2).
(2) The Minister may remove a member from office by notice in writing, if –
(a) there is good reason for doing so; and
(b) the member has been given reasonable opportunity of making representations
to the Minister.
(3) If the office of a member becomes vacant before the expiration of his or her term
of office, the Minister must appoint, another person to fill the vacancy for the unexpired
portion of that term.
Remuneration
9. A member or a member of a committee, who is not in the full time employment
of the State, must be paid such remuneration and allowances as the Minister, with the
concurrence of the Minister responsible for finance, may determine.
Meetings of Council
10. (1) The first meeting of the Council must be held at a time and place as determined by the Minister, and thereafter the Council must meet at the times and places
determined by the Council.
(2) The Chairperson must convene the next meeting if for any reason a meeting
cannot take place at the date and time determined by the Council.
