	Enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as
follows:

Objectives of

Part I — Preliminary

	1. This Bill is to provide a legal and regulatory framework for:

the Act.

	(a) conducting transactions using electronic or related media;

	(b) the protection of the rights of consumers and other parties in
electronic

transactions and services;

	(c) the protection of personal data; and

	(d) facilitating electronic commerce in Nigeria.

Part II — General Provisions

	2.—(1) Without prejudice to the provisions of any law or regulation

regarding commercial and other transactions or relationship of parties thereto,

this Act shall apply to the use of information in the form of electronic or other

12

media.
