THE NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
AUTHORITY, UGANDA ACT, 2009.

An Act to provide for the establishment of the National
Information Technology Authority, Uganda and to provide for its
objects, functions, composition, management and finances; and
other related matters.
DATE OF ASSENT: 15th July, 2009.

Date of Commencement: See section 1.

BE IT ENACTED by Parliament as follows—

PART I—PRELIMINARY

1. Commencement.
This Act shall come into force on a date appointed by the Minister by
statutory instrument.
2. Interpretation.
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—

“authorised officer” means a person appointed as an authorised
officer under section 18 and includes a computer scientist,
network administrator, systems administrator, systems
analyst, data base administrator, software engineer,
programmer, information technology security administrator,
electronic engineer, communications engineer and a
telecommunication specialist;
