(b)
contravenes the terms and conditions of his licence;
(c)
assigns or transfers his licence without the written
consent of the Authority;
(d)
being summoned to attend a hearing, give evidence or produce any
document, record or other matter, fails to do so;
(e)
being an employee of the Authority, owns or acquires an interest in the
activities of a licensee;
(f)
being a member or employee specified in section 35,discloses, without any
reasonable cause, to any person anything that comes to his knowledge
relating to any matter which is to be is being or has been determined by a
body specified in that section;
(g)
otherwise contravenes any provision of this Act, shall commit an offence.
Any person who commits an offence shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not
exceeding I 00,000 rupees and to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.
Regulations
(1)
The Authority may make such regulations as it thinks fit for the purposes of this Act.
(2)
The Authority may, by regulations, amend the Schedules.
(3)
Any regulations made under subsection (1) may provide(a)
for the levying of fees or charges;
(b)
that any person who contravenes them shall commit an offence and shall,
on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding 100,000 rupees and to
imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.
Consequential amendments
(1)
The Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation Act 1982 is amended (a)
in section 3(3), by inserting immediately after the words "this Act" the words
"and the Independent Broadcasting Authority Act 2000";
(b)
by repealing section 18.
(2)
The Statutory Bodies (Accounts and Audit) Act is amended in Part II of the
Schedule by inserting the following body in its appropriate alphabetical order
