TANZANIA COMMUNICATIONS ACT, 1993

59. The Tanzania Communications Act, 1993, hereinafter referred to
as ''the principal Act'' is amended.
60. The principal Act is amended by deleting the long title and
substituting for it the following:
''An Act to provide for the regulation of postal and telecommunications services by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory
Authority''
61. Section 2 (1) of the principal Act is amended by:
(a) adding the following definitions in their appropriate alphabetical
positions:
''Authority'' means the Tanzania Communications Regulatory
Authority also known by its acronym
''TCRA'' established by the Tanzania Communications Regulatory
Authority Act, 2003;
(b) by deleting the definitions of the words ''Chairman'' ''Director
)
General'', and ''Minister'' and substituting for them the following:
''Chairman'' has the same meaning as ascribed to it under section 3 of
the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Act, 2003;
''Director General'' has the same meaning as ascribed to it under section
3 of the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Act, 2003;
''Authority'' has the same meaning as ascribed to it under section 3 of
the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Act, 2003;
''Minister'' has the same meaning as ascribed to it under section 3 of the
Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority Act, 2003;
(c) by deleting the word ''Commission'' wherever it appears in the
principal Act and substituting for it the word ''Authority''
