AN ACT
To provide for measures to regulate the responsible planning, development,
production, use, marketing and application of genetically modified organisms
Enacted by the Parliament of Mauritius, as follows 1.
Short title
The Act may be cited as the Genetically Modified Organisms Act 2003.
2.
Interpretation
In this Act “accident” means an incident involving an unintended release of genetically
modified organisms which could have an immediate or delayed adverse impact
on the environment or human and animal health;
