MINISTERIAL ORDER N°05/10/Minicom OF 25/08/2010 DETERMINING THE
TIMEFRAME PROVIDED FOR GRANTING OF UNILATERAL LICENCE, A
COMPULSORY LICENCE AND OPPOSITION TO REGISTRATION OF
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Article 1: Purpose of this Order
This Order determines the timeframe provided for granting a unilateral licence, a compulsory
licence, and an opposition to registration of an intellectual property.
Article 2: Provided timeframe
The duration for unilateral licence shall be four (4) years.
The duration for compulsory licence shall be twelve (12) months renewable, if deemed
necessary
Article 3: Opposition against the registration of location indicators
The time to file an opposition against the registration of the location indicators shall be thirty
(30) days starting to run from the date the registration is made.
Article 4: Repealing provision
All prior provisions contrary to this Order are hereby repealed.
Article 5: Commencement
This Order shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the
Republic of Rwanda.
