(e) prevents unauthorised persons from accessing an information system or certain
functions of an information system;
(f) enables the detection of unauthorised access or tampering with data or an
information system;
(g) has for its purpose the linking of a specific person with a transaction or action;
(h) has any other purpose relating to the security or integrity of data or an information system, or the linking of any action to a specific information system
or person; or
(i) has a combination of such purposes.
(2) The Minister may prescribe different classes of security services, products, providers
of security products or renderers of security services which classes may include one or more
classes of issuers of digital certificates.
Accreditation
42. (1) A person who supplies a security product or who renders a security service,
may apply in the prescribed manner to the Authority for the accreditation of that product or
service or may apply to the Authority to be accredited as a supplier of that security product
or as a provider of that security service.
(2) The Authority may on the application of any person or on its own motion accredit
a product available in Namibia, or a service that is provided by a person outside Namibia in
a class prescribed in section 41(2).
(3) The Authority may accredit a person in a class prescribed under section 41(2) as
the provider of a specific security product or as the renderer of a specific security service if
it is of the opinion that –
